Died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, September 8, 2017, in her 95th year. Loving and beloved wife of Nick Sr., who predeceased her in 2013. Dear mother of Doug Sr., and Nick Jr. Loving grandmother of Suzanne Day-Fur, and of Doug Jr., and his wife Krista. Loving great-grandmother of Shayne, Bill, and Caroline Day, and of Madden, and Morgan Fur. Predeceased by her beloved parents Agoston, and Ilona Kovacs, and her beloved late sister Magdalene Sztrimbely, and her late husband Bill. Cherished sister-in-law of the late Barbara and the late Tony Blaschuck, and of the late Andy Fur and his wife Bernice. Also missed by many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews of the Fur, Blaschuck and Sztrimbely families.
A long-time member of St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church in Burlington and of St. Stephen of Hungary Church in Hamilton. Mom’s family and faith were two of the most important things in her life.
The family wishes to thank Dr. H. Singh and all of the nursing and support staff at Wellington Park Care Centre, Burlington for their care, comfort and attention that they provided to mom over the years.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. with a vigil prayer at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostles Roman Catholic Church, 2265 Headon Road, Burlington on Saturday, September 16 at 10:30 a.m. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery to follow. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, or to St. Stephen of Hungary Church would be appreciated by the family.
