my favourite aunt

there was so much to talk about when I visited Tilly a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately we didn't have that kind of conversation because of her illness.

To me, Till was an aunt who lived far away in Canada. But always when we saw eahother, there was a special connection. When I grew older I began more to understand of the lives of my family and also of Tils.

We visited Til, Roger and Kieran twice when I was a child. Sweet memories about those holidays. Making Hotdogs at lunchtime in her backyard, tried my first chocolate milkshake from McDonalds, wich is still my favourite. Go shopping with her in a big mall, the laughs, the games, everything!

Later she came to Holland every two or three years or so, so we  learned more about eachother.

She was a person at whom you can be yourself with. Always. when she talked with you, she was really interested. She never judged, but always listened. She had a very nice sense of humor and laughed a lot when she was with us. I thank her for that. I remember some special talks we had, she understood me so well.

Lieve tante Tilly, Thank you for everything you gave me and for being such a special person.
