Obituary for Rodney Allan Hurst

Rodney Allan Hurst
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of an extraordinary man Rod Hurst. Surrounded by his loving family at St. Peter’s Hospital on Thursday, August 31, 2017. He will be forever missed by his cherished wife and best friend Angela, the most incredible and caring father to Kaitlin (Mark) and newborn grandson Scott, Jennifer, Michael (Kelly) and grandsons Tanner, Jaxon and Owen. Dearly loved son-in-law of Dragica Prsa. He will also be missed by his surviving siblings Joan Hyslop, Juanita Bamford, and Tony Hurst and many nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbours. Most recently, thank you to the team of doctors and nurses at Juravinski and St. Peter’s Hospitals for providing outstanding care. A long time employee and retiree of ArcelorMittal Dofasco. Rod was an outdoor enthusiast who loved spending time at the family cottage. Rod had a tremendous sense of humor, loved his family and was the happiest when we were all together. He is already so deeply missed and will forever watch over all of us. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:30am. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Juravinski Hospital www.smithsfh.com
