Obituary for William Hogg

William Hogg
William Hogg
March 30, 1926 - August 27, 2017.

Our beloved husband, father and Papa was promoted to glory to meet his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ whom he loved and served. William was born in Glasgow, Scotland to Evangelist David and Annie (Noble) Hogg. He was saved at a young age and dedicated his life to serving his Lord through singing and preaching the Word of God. His ministry ranged from street ministry in Glasgow, Scotland and Toronto, Canada, to the Albert Hall in London and in similar venues in Germany, United States and Canada. He directed the Male Voice Festival of Praise Choir in Canada for many years and they traveled to several countries spreading the Good News in word and song. He was very involved in quartet singing but always said the message was not in the music but in the words. William served in the Royal Navy in WWII.

In 1957 he immigrated to Canada to marry the love of his life Ethel Victoria Allen of Pugwash, Nova Scotia. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and he mentored many young men as he had a special interest in them and loved to see them grow in the things of the Lord. He touched the lives of many and will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife Ethel of sixty years, his son William David (Ginnie) and grandchildren Kristen, Kerry, and Jayme and great grandson Thomas. His daughter Victoria King (Wayne) who spent time at his bedside every day for the last 8 months, and grandchildren Kaila and David, also siblings Nan, May and Robin. Sister-in-laws Effie and Bonnie Lynn, and many cherished nieces and nephews, and Special friend Nazir and family. He was predeceased by his parents, brother David and sisters Sadie, Ruth and Hannah.
