Obituary for William Henry "Bill" O'Loughlin

O'LOUGHLIN, William "Bill" Henry - (March 21, 1923 - Aug. 27, 2017)

Passed away peacefully at Carpenter Hospice in Burlington. Son of Earl and Adah O'Loughlin of Stratford, Ontario and husband of Dorothy (who passed away in 2010) for 61 good years. Proud father of Richard (Jennifer) and Peter (Chloe), fondly remembered by his grandchildren Emily, Erin, Julia, David, and three great-grandchildren. He leaves behind many good friends and extended family as well, who will always lovingly remember Bill, his ever-ready smile and warm, gracious personality. Bill grew up in Stratford, graduated from Univ. of Toronto with a BA.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (1945) and worked for International Harvester in several management positions until 1982, and for a short time at AMCAN Castings. He was an avid lover of sports and games, and gathered many friends through playing golf, curling, bridge and badminton. The cribbage board was ever-present. A great lover of music, he sang for many years with the Burlington Senior's Choir. In keeping with Bill's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in his honour can be made to Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation.
