Obituary for Phillip Cornwall

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Phil Cornwall on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at McNally House Hospice, Grimsby in his 70th year. Phil is the beloved husband and soul mate of Mary Lou (nee Chuckry) and deeply loved step-father to Cameron Scott. Also mourning Phil's loss is his mother-in-law Marie Chuckry, sister Anne (Sam) Kingma and brother Paul (Nancy). Sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Carol (Keith) Printess, Cathy (Bill) Battersby and brothers-in-law John (Andi) Chuckry and Joe (Kelly) Chuckry. Uncle Phil will live on in the memories of his many nieces and nephews and their families. Phil is predeceased by his parents John and Edna, and his brothers John and Lloyd Cornwall. Phil graduated from Eastdale Secondary School and for many years worked at the Dominion store in Welland. After Dominion closed Phil continued to work in the grocery industry in both Welland and Port Colborne. In later years, Phil was a salesman for Slessor Pontiac/Buick, Grimsby Hyundai, and Grimsby Ford. He was also a member of the Dunnville Amity Lodge No. 32. A life long Montreal Canadiens fan, Phil also followed the Toronto Blue Jays faithfully, through thick and thin. We wish to express our deepest appreciation to the caring staff and volunteers at McNally House who made Phil's last days so comfortable. Also a sincere thanks to the staff at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and the staff at the Juravinski Cancer Center, Hamilton. A very special thank you to nurse Jessica from CCAC. And lastly, thank you to all our friends and family who have been there with us for the past eight months. Your love and support helped us through this incredibly difficult time. Cremation has taken place. We invite you to join us for a celebration of Phil's life at the Casablanca Winery Inn & Spa, 4 Windward Avenue, Grimsby on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. Donations in Phil's memory may be made to McNally House Hospice, 148 Central Street, Grimsby, ON L3M 4Z3 or the Juravinski Cancer Center, 699 Concession St., Hamilton ON L8V 5C2.

Rest in peace Phil.
Forever a HAB and Forever Loved.
