Obituary for Mildred Holloway (Jacobs)

12/6/1923-8/3/2017

Mildred Holloway passed away peacefully August 3rd, 2017 at Creekway Village in Burlington, Ontario. Mildred was born and grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, immigrating to Canada in 1948 and was shortly followed by the love of her life, Douglas. Mildred and Douglas married January 26, 1950. Mildred was a loving ball of fire, endlessly joyful, remembering the littlest things to make everyone feel special. She was an expert seamstress, practiced and taught country line dancing, and enjoyed annual ‘snow bird’ trips to Florida with Douglas well into her 80’s. Most importantly, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend to many. She leaves behind her husband Douglas, children Craig Holloway, Brenda Scott, Gary Holloway and their spouses, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, and countless friends. A Celebration of Mildred’s Life will be hosted by Smith’s Funeral Home at Heritage Place Wednesday, August 9th at 2:00 located at 4151 Kilmer Drive, Burlington. The family expresses our gratitude to the staff at Creekway Village for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Mildred.
