Obituary for Owen James Davidson

Davidson, Owen James
Passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 2 ½ at Toronto’s SickKids Hospital, with his Mom by his side on the morning of July 19, 2017. Owen fought a long and tough battle with Congenital Heart Disease, having undergone 3 open heart surgeries in the first year of his life. Much loved son of Courtney Langdon and Jim Davidson. Adored little brother of Cole Davidson. Survived by his Gma (Diane Langdon), Grandma (Joan Davidson) and Gramps (Axel Schattin.) Predeceased by his Papa (Michael Langdon). Nephew to Uncle Kyle (Langdon) and Auntie B (Rebecca Colbran) and cousin to Parker. Owen was a fighter; a determined, stubborn and outspoken toddler who knew what he wanted. Owen loved to play and be with his family. A heart condition never slowed him down. Equipped with a vocabulary far exceeding expectations given his age, he had a fond love of playing with his best friend and brother, Cole, going for walks, listening to music and watching Paw Patrol. Although his time on this earth was short, he made a fierce impact in the lives of anyone he knew; a true inspiration and embodiment of strength and what it means to overcome lifes obstacles. Special Thanks goes to Toronto SickKids Hospital. His Cardiovascular Surgeon, Dr. Glen VanArsdell and the staff in the Cardiac Critical Care Unit, namely Dr. Alejandro Floh, Nurses Mathusha and Adnan, Respiratory Therapist Voytek Wezyk , Staff in the 4D Unit, namely Dr. Mike Seed and Nurses, Sinthuja, Melissa, Julian, Carolyn, Erica, Erin, Michael, Lisa, Kim and Janet. . Members of the PACT team, namely, Dr Kevin Weingarten and Francis Macapagal. Child Life worker Sabina Sparato. The Heart Function staff, namely Dr. Aamir Jeewa, and fellows Dr. Abrienn Szabo, Dr.Mari- Carmen Vazquez Alvarez and Dr. Alyssa Power. His Nurse Practitioner, Sandra Aiello and his Pediatrician, Dr. Kristen Hallet. Most importantly, the heart and soul of his care team, Dr. Jin Lee who provided so much love and support in Owens 2 ½ years, while she fought hard alongside Owen, Courtney and Jim in hopes of always offering Owen the best quality of life possible. A Celebration of Life in Honour of Owen will be held on Sunday, July 30th from 1-4 pm at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, 440 Locust Street Burlington, ON.
