Peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at The Carpenter Hospice on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the age of 53. Loving wife and best friend of David Halcovitch. Cherished sister of Gavin Hayes (Karen). Kerry will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Molly Hayes. Survived by brother Rodney Hayes (Lizanne). Kerry was an IRONMAN, completed the Around the Bay Race and ran numerous marathons. She was a long time employee with the Halton Regional Police Service, she will be fondly remembered for her community involvement, her various fundraising for numerous charitable organizations and her devotion to the Halton Regional Police Service Chorus. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she has touched. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9p.m. A Celebration of Kerry’s Life will be held at the Burlington Convention Centre, 1120 Burloak Drive, Burlington, on Thursday, July 13, 2017,from 5:15 - 7 p.m., doors open at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Kerry are asked to please consider Craig’s Cause, CAP Hamilton (Cancer Assistance Program of Hamilton) or The Carpenter Hospice. www.smithsfh.com
