Obituary for George Charles "Chuck" Hull

George Charles "Chuck"  Hull
HULL, George Charles "Chuck" 1924-2017

Passed away peacefully at Northridge Long Term Care on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the age of 92. Born in Belfast Northern Ireland, he completed his engineering apprentice and moved to Montreal in 1952. His beloved bride Hazel (nee Valentine) joined him in 1953 after a telegram response "YES!" to his marriage proposal by mail from Canada. They were proudly married for 63 years. Dear father to Peter (Veronica), Dianne (Dennis) Yokoyama and Susan Hull (Philip Cross). Cherished grandfather of Kenneth, Douglas and Sharon. He will be missed by all his family and friends in Northern Ireland, England and Canada.

Chuck's engineering background and Irish charm led to a successful career in sales with stops in Montreal, Winnipeg, Halifax then Burlington. He worked for Philips Cable, Westinghouse and Wesco. Chuck and Hazel enjoyed curling, tennis, golf and socializing with friends and neighbours and were decades long members of Appleby United Church.

In recent months Chuck often expressed his gratitude for how well Hazel and he were looked after at Northridge Long Term Care, Oakville, Ontario and the family also express thanks for the compassionate care provided.

Service of Remembrance to be held at Appleby United Church, 4407 Spruce Avenue, Burlington (905-637-2942) on Friday June 16th at 11:00 am with a reception to follow. For those who wish, donations in memory of Chuck may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the charity of your choice.
