Sydiaha (nee Butcher), Verna Ruth
October 12, 1934 to May 25, 2017
Passed away peacefully in her sleep, at The Brant Centre in Burlington, Ontario, early on the morning of Thursday, May 25, 2017, in her 83rd year. Beloved wife and best friend of Walter for over 60 years. Loving mother to Derek (Sharon), Cathy (Shawn Brown), David (Julie), Chris (Michelle), late Jimmy (1967) and late Michael (1970). Cherished Nana to Jason, Dawn; Jeremy, Stephanie; Heidi, Michael, Matthew; Jeremy, Tyler and Harrison. Proud Nana-Nana to Beatrice, Margo; Jordan, Hayden, Nolyn; Christopher and Madeleine. Verna was an only child who longed to have a large family, which she was so happy to finally have. Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1965, she also had a large spiritual family of many dear friends whose company and friendship she cherished and enjoyed. Verna now rests in Jehovah's memory, awaiting the day when, through His son, Jesus Christ, He will call, and she will answer. A Memorial gathering for family and friends will be held Monday, June 05, 2017, 7:30pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4025 Mainway, Burlington, Ontario (Walker's Line N of QEW, E on Mainway).
