Passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family.
Loving husband to Maggie (nee Taylor). Devoted father of Daniel, Connelly, John, Thomas, and Andrew. Cherished son of Diana and the late Murray Hogarth (2014). Peter is also survived by his brothers Greg (Heather), Tim, Geoff, and Christopher (Colleen), brothers and sisters -in-law Anne (David) Heutel, Anthony (Kelly) Taylor, Gregory Taylor, and predeceased by sister in law Elizabeth Taylor (2007).

Peter Hogarth was born in Toronto, Ontario and grew up in Burlington. He graduated with a B.A. from Bishop's University in Quebec, where he was a founding father of Sigma Chi fraternity. Member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization), and a member of the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation board. Peter was a multi-unit and multi brand franchisee of Tim Horton's and Wendy's Brands. Peter was also actively involved as an officer and board member of The Pioneer Group Inc. (Hogarth family investment holding company). He was a strong supporter of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and the Tim Horton's Children's Foundation. Peter was very involved with the Hogarth Family Fund through the Hamilton Community Foundation. Peter loved skiing with his family at Craiglieth Ski Club. He also enjoyed many events at Muskoka Lakes Golf and Country Club.

The family would like to thank the entire oncology team at both the Juravinski and Sunnybrook Hospitals, and especially Dr. Adam Grzeslo for his continuous care.


All are welcome to attend a VISITATION at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Following the church service, a Celebration of Life will take place at the Burlington Preforming Arts Centre (440 Locust St. Burlington). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunnybrook Hospital; Brain Cancer Research, the Hamilton Community Foundation, or the Burlington Community Foundation; Hogarth Family Fund.
