SMITH, Elizabeth Buchan (nee Kerr) "Betty" 1923-2017

Born of William and Grace Kerr of Scotland, Betty born in Montreal, passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, on May 16, 2017, at the age of 94. Beloved wife to the late Charles Smith (1982). Cherished mother of Ron (Dorothy) Smith, Diane (Mike) Sturman and Gail (Gord) Milmine. Loving grandmother to Brent (Sarah), Mark (Michelle), Carla, Vanessa, Ashley (Jon), Colin and Kelsey. Will be also missed by her great-grandchildren Patrick, Callum, Cali, Evan Reese, Carter, Makayla, Harrison, Emma, and Kendall. Survived by her sister Lorna (Mal) of Montreal. Betty remained lifelong friends with fellow members of the Busy Bees Knitting Club, established in WWII, keeping many soldiers warm with their knitted socks. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 6-8 pm where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10:30 am with a reception to follow. Interment at a later date at Urgel Bourgie Cemetery in Montreal. For those who wish, donations in memory of Betty may be made to Glaucoma Research Society of Canada.
