Obituary for Olga Lattanzi (Martini)

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, May 14, 2017 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Antero (2014). Predeceased by her parents Benito and Casilde Martini and parents-in-law Alberto and Cesera Lattanzi. Loving mother of Paul, Dennis (Toni), and Ed (Helen). Cherished and proud nonna of David, Stephanie-Jade (Mitch), Cassandra (Andrew), Melissa (Rob), and Nicole. Bisnonna of Leo. Predeceased by her siblings Osvina (Lusorrio), Maria, Ugo (Erminia) and Andrea (survived by Orsalina). She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and many friends in Canada, Italy and Connecticut. Olga was born in Isola di Fano, Urbino, Italy on June 11, 1926. She followed her love, Antero to Canada in 1954 and they married that year. Olga's outgoing personality and sense of humor was enjoyed by all. She was a skilled seamstress. Also well known and respected for her culinary skills, she spoiled family and friends with tremendous dinners. Above all Olga took great pride in her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank all relatives and friends for their love and kindness. A heartfelt thank you to Matilde Rossi. A special thank you to Dr. Staibano for all of his years of dedicated care. Thanks also to the staff of St. Joseph's Healthcare - King Campus (Dialysis Clinic) and St. Joseph's Health System - Complex Continuing Care. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. Memorial contributions to the St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation Hamilton - Kidney & Urinary Services would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
