Passed away with family by his side, at Cama Woodlands Nursing Home, Burlington, Ontario on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Beloved husband of Florence. Loving father of Glenn (Catherine Petersen), Neil (Teresa Bozzo) and Lisa (Shaun Power). Proud grandfather of Ella, Darya and Max. Dear brother of Bernice Mullins (Fabian), and cherished uncle of Dawn Byron (Wayne) and Chris Simcoe (Joan). Irvine started his career at Trans-Canada Airlines in Winnipeg in January 1955. He transferred to Dorval, Quebec in July 1959 where he became the operator of Air Canada's first computer system. He subsequently held various positions in computer programming and operations leading to the position of Computer Operations Supervisor. He later became a project leader for the company's Reservec reservation system and in 1978 transferred to Toronto where he became a project scheduler for the Via Rail reservation system. He retired at the end of December in 1985. To honour Irvine's wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, donations in memory of Irvine to the McMaster Children's Hospital would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
