Obituary for Anne Evalyn Schnekenburger (Schulde)

Anne Evalyn Schnekenburger (Schulde)
SCHNEKENBURGER, Anne (nee Schulde)
November 15, 1927 – March 24, 2017
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to one of the strongest, most loyal, hard working woman we know. She has been a driving force in who we have become and we are proud to call her Mom, Grandma, and Nana. She leaves wonderful memories with her children, D’Arcy (Melanie) Karen (Steve) and Mike (Sue), her grandchildren Chris (Julie) Cheryl (Nate) Justin, Jeremy, Alexandra, DJ, Elizabeth, and her great-grandchildren Trey, Skylar, Marina, Maggie, Clay, and Aaron. Predeceased by her husband, D'Arcy, the love of her life, in 1992, and her brother Joe. Lovingly remembered by her sister-in law Lois (the late Don) and her nieces and nephews. Mom was always active and involved. She graduated from U of T as one of the first female pharmacists. She worked at various drugstores and at Joseph Brant Hospital until she retired at age 70. She was very active at Holy Rosary Church in the bridge group, and very active in other social bridge clubs in the city. She volunteered many hours at The Carpenter hospice. She spent many years curling at the Burlington Golf and Country Club and was a member of Probus. She will be sadly missed by her family and her friends at Pearl and Pine, her bridge friends, her Rummoli friends and many many more. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 30 at 10:30 am. Private interment at a later date. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to The Carpenter Hospice or Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
Fly with the Angels, Mom. We love you. Say hi to Dad.
