It is with heavy hearts the family announces Darren passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the age of 50. Husband of Elizabeth and father of Meghan - his "Megster " whom he loved dearly. Loved son of Patricia Milne Dopko (the late Adam) (2013). Cherished brother of Richard (Christina), David (Wilma), Michael (Lori), Trevor (Srithip), Troy (Donna) and Patricia (Mandy). Predeceased by his father Cornelius "Kees" (2009). Missed also by his step-mother Beverley (Richard) Heywood, step-siblings Nadine (Dave) Laister and Ryan Shea, mother-in-law Lee Johnson, father-in-law Bruce (Laurel) Johnson, grandmothers, in-laws, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Darren was larger than life - he was loved deeply by all who knew him. As per Darren's wishes, cremation and private family prayers have taken place. There will be no formal service. If desired, memorial contributions to McMaster Children's Hospital would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
