Obituary for Leah Helen Farrauto (Latner)

Farrauto, Leah Helen (nee Latner)-
Leah passed away peacefully at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington on Monday, March 13, 2017 in her 94th year with her adoring family by her side. Leah was predeceased by her husband Philip, and her daughter Diane Perrone. She will be profoundly missed by her son Marc (Michelle), daughter Maria Robertson (Blair), and son-in-law Peter Perrone (Joanne). GG adored her grandchildren; Marc Philip, Andrea (Mark), Alycia (Paul), Rachel (Steve), Kevin (Amy), Kyle, Ryan (Aprille), Alex (Robby), Selina (Jamie), Philip and great-grandchildren; Andrew, Jaime, Haiden, Angelo, Dominic, Nella and Effie. She dearly loved her son Philip Jr. Leah was especially close to her late niece Sally Colamartini and her nephew Rocco (Joanne) and their family. She will be dearly missed by her girlfriends; Jean, Harriett and Beverly. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know Leah was aware of what a strong, remarkable lady she was. Leah's family was her greatest pride and joy and she never missed a chance to tell them how blessed she was to have them in her life. Leah was a proud member of the Geritol Follies for many years, dancing at Hamilton Place until the age of 88 and travelling around the world with them. Leah's family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Crombie, everyone at The Carpenter Hospice and the many other extraordinary and devoted caregivers Leah met on her final journey. (You know who you are.) Your tenderness and compassion touched Leah's life and made the inevitable more bearable for her and her family. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Thursday March 16, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Holy Souls Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Carpenter Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
