Obituary for Estelle Lea Shipman
After a long healthy life and a brief encounter with cancer, Estelle Lea Shipman passed on Monday, January 9, 2017 at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby, in her 93rd year. Predeceased by Harry her husband of 63 years, her parents and six of her eight siblings. Survived by two sisters Martha Pratte of Rouyn, Que. and Simone Drury of Stoney Creek, Ont. Devoted mother to Wayne (Elizabeth), Barbara (Bill), Leonard (Julie) and Heather Shipman. Grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was so happy to receive visits from several of her grandchildren in hospital. Special thanks to the staff at Maplecrest Retirement Home and the special care from nurses in Emerg and C Ward at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Private family burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be preferred.
