Obituary for William Gordon "Bill" Ward

William Gordon "Bill"  Ward
WARD, William Gordon “Bill” -

Passed away peacefully with family by his side at The Carpenter Hospice in Burlington on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the age of 81. Loving husband of Marilyn (nee Matthews) for 61 years. Cherished father of Scott Ward (Jennifer Toland), Dan Ward (Bonnie), Nancy Ward (Lee Lawrence), and Michelle Wagg (Ryan). Proud grandfather of Kayla, Grace, David, Jennifer, Matthew, Jessica, Victoria, Nicholas, and Mitchell, and great-grandfather of Nicolette, Keegan and Caleb. He will also be missed by extended family and numerous friends from Burlington and at Duk Inn. Bill was a long time mason with the Tuscan Lodge No. 551 since 1967, and also a member of Ramoca Shrine Club, Owen Sound and Rameses Temple, Toronto. Thank you to Dr. Karnis, Dr. Plach, Dr. Phillips, the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital. To the special staff and volunteers at The Carpenter Hospice who comforted Bill and family during his stay, we thank you. A Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 3-6pm. Private Cremation to follow. If desired, donations in Bill’s memory to The Carpenter Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated.
