LEPINE, Wayne Donald.
It is with profound sadness that we announce Wayne’s peaceful passing on December 20, 2016. Wayne passed at home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer at the age of 68. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 26 years Hannele Lavemaa, his devoted sons Wayne (“Dub”) (Erin), Garet, Trevor (Angela), Christopher and Brandyn and cherished daughter Ashley (Michael). Proud grandfather of Payton, Trystan, Nicolas, Alexander, Matthew, Ethan, Michaela, Luca and Aria. Survived by brothers Mike (Nadine), Robert, Doug (Jan) and John (June) and sisters Brenda (Richard), Rita and Wanda. Predeceased by brothers Donny and Percy and sisters Linda and Judy. He will also be missed by extended family and numerous friends. Wayne was a graduate of McMaster University, a CPA and employee of the Canada Revenue Agency. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their exceptional care. Private cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line, BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Service of Remembrance will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 10:30am. Interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens, 3353 Guelph Line, Burlington immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne’s memory can be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or Ontario Institute for Cancer Research.
