It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father and grandfather at St. Peter's Hospital, on Friday, August 26, 2016. Beloved husband of Helen. Loved father of Marianne McFarlane (Steve) and the late Nancy. Cherished grandfather of Cameron, Jason and Ashley. Dear brother of Richard and brother-in-law of Mary. Missed also by his niece Marianne. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Stan. The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and caring staff at Hamilton General, Juravinski and St. Peter's Hospitals for all of your compassionate care. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 7-9 p.m., where the Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 11 a.m. Interment at Mountview Gardens. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions to St. Peter's Hospital Foundation or St. Francis Xavier Church, would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
