Obituary for Bonnie Jean Smith (Hill)

September 14, 1943- August 24, 2016

Beloved wife of 51 yrs to Peter Douglas Smith of Grimsby. Devoted mother and best friend of Terri Lynn Chaston (John) of Hamilton and predeceased by her son Michael Douglas Smith of St. Catharines. Loved mother-in-law of Tammy Burnham and cherished grandmother of Juliette, Brad, Hannah, Chad, Katie and Tamara. She will be missed by her sister Linda Macdonald (John) of Hamilton, sister-in-law Mary "Dolly" Smith of Tweed and is predeceased by her mother Vera Barker, sister Sharon Morris, brother Sheldon Barker, brother-in-law Charles Smith and brother and sister-in-law Fred and Pearl Smith. Bonnie will be missed by many nieces, nephews and long time friends. Retired Employee of Fortino’s Supermarkets with 20 years' service.

Her spirit and strength will live on in all of us forever.

Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until a time of Celebration of Bonnie’s life at 12 noon in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Grimsby Mountain Cemetery immediately after.

The family welcomes you to join them for a reception afterwards to be held at the Grimsby Legion, 233 Elizabeth Street, Grimsby, Ontario L3M 3K5.

At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers and donations we ask that you roll up your sleeve and donate blood to save a life.
